Pennsylvania Information
last updated 12/10/2006Well, it looks like the Pennsylvania Game Commission ,PGC is not going to change it deer management strategy again for the 2006-07 season. It's now up to us, the Pennsylvania, PA, hunters, to do it for them. Remember we are the last line in the deer management chain. Pull the trigger and you help the PGC, pass the shot on the doe and you help the deer herd regroup. Purchase the doe tags and don't use them. If it's brown it's down has got to stop somewhere. Let it be with you! If you are disgusted with the PA Game Commission send them an email at PA Game Commission and let them know! If enough of us voice our concerns they may listen. Maybe!
Well, another Pennsylvania deer season has come to an end. We only had 3 days to hunt but covered about 12 miles. We stand hunted and drove for each other and no deer. Since the PA Game Commission's bid for a license increase had been shot down here is how I think it is going to play out. This is my opinion on the press release that will be issued regarding the 2006-2007 deer harvest report. "Despite the warm weather and storms that hit some areas the deer kill has been a near record for the state. Therefore we see no need to change our management plans for the upcoming 2007-2008 seasons."
Again I must remind you that the PA game commission is in the business of staying in business and will say or do anything to get the hunters to buy antlerless deer licenses. They are after our money with total disregard for our deer. It's up to us to save our deer from the slaughter that has been occurring. If it means not hunting for a year, so be it!

PSSSSSSST....PA Hunters
Great news. Gary Alt is gone. Maybe now I will see a doe in the forest. But, what if his successor is worse than he was? Hunters beware! He's now speaking badly about you! Stay on your toes.....get involved, stay alert, stay informed! Read info below---Lonely "but hopeful" Buck.
F.Y.I.
Taken from the Thursday, January 6th, 2005 edition of the Wilkes-Barre Citizen's Voice.
Gary Alt: " It makes no more sense to let the deer herd go out of control than it does to allow pollutants to go into a stream". Can anyone explain the analogy to me.
Why Gary Alt left: The reason I left the agency was that the program needed to go further and he felt the influence of a core group of well organized hunters was limiting the programs ability to move forward. Who is this core group?
Gary Alt: "The agency is too indebted to the 8 percent of Pennsylvanians who hunt and not the state's entire population" Hints of anti-hunting rhetoric doesn't it
Gary Alt on the Future of hunting in Pennsylvania: "these people", the core of hunters mentioned above, "are killing the future of hunting."
When Alt was questioned if the deer herd would ever be under control he said: "It will happen eventually. The only thing is we don't have time for a generation of hunters to die off" Really stinks of anti-hunting rhetoric now! Maybe there should be open season on hunters, Mr. Alt.!
WE ALL NEED TO FOLLOW THIS man's, AND THE PGC'S ACTIONS CAREFULLY. HE, POSSIBLY THEY, ARE THE ENEMY. HE MAY EVEN BELONG TO PETA OR THE FUND FOR ANIMALS. DOES HIS VIEWS REFLECT THOSE OF THE PA GAME COMMISSION? MAYBE SOMEONE CAN CHECK ON THIS.
